More Advanced Editing and Conclusion
A few years ago, there were a handful of online-video editing websites. Unfortunately, hosting videos and supporting a video-editing site is expensive and they're now gone. Even Photobucket’s video remix web app which was powered by Adobe’s Premiere Express which was launched in 2007 is now unavailable as well.
There is no perfect online video editing solution and since there was only one solution, Motionbox is worth a try if you find yourself needing to edit a video on the fly. If you want a safer way to share your videos than YouTube, it'll work well since they allow 25GB of storage on their pro account.
If you're looking to spend some money for more features than Motionbox. Don't want to break the bank, Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, Pinnacle Studio HD. Corel’s VideoStudio Pro X3 are good alternatives, all of which are in the $50-$100 range. They'll probably give you more features and buttons than you know what to do with which is a good thing as the limiting factor will be yourself and not the software. Personally, I've used Sony Vegas Movie Studio and found that it met my needs exceptionally well. There was nothing that it couldn't do that I'd imagined for my video.
Your best bet for free video editing however, if on a PC or Mac, is to use the latest versions of Windows Movie Maker or Apple’s iMovie since you already have it on your computer and it's free. These will definitely be more powerful than any online-video editor and give you the greatest flexibility to unleash your creative potential.
